Palmer Launches Cashewthane™ 1630-1

Responding to the low-VOC demands of the marketplace, Palmer is pleased to commercialize 1630-1, a 100% solids reactive diluent derived from Cashew Nutshell Liquid (CNSL).

On its own, 1630 can be applied at 80% solids, or about 180 g/l VOC.  Under recommended conditions and using standard driers, films will dry in about 4.5 hours, resulting in pencil hardnesses of about HB to F after 7 days.  “As diluents go, 1630 is raising the bar,” claims Dr. Douglas Rhubright, Palmer’s Technical Director.

1630-1 is highly recommended in low-VOC, air-dry wood coatings and stains, architectural coatings, and industrial and marine coatings.
