Palmer Partnering for Lower Emissions and Greater Energy Efficiency

Vince Keidel, General Manager of Palmer International, worked closely with other charter members of the Metro Philadelphia Industry Partnership to produce the Energy Efficiency for Industry Workshop on October 5th, 2007.  Held at the Southeast Regional Office of PA Department of Environmental Protection, the workshop focused on innovative solutions to boost efficiency, and included such speakers as Yuri Fokin from Sunoco and John Solt and Michael Waslin from Merck, among others.  Although it was conceived by the EPA, the partnership is led by members of various industries in the Philadelphia region.  “As a company that develops sustainable solutions for industry, reducing our dependence on petrochemical fuels is a top priority to Palmer,” states Vince.

Palmer will be hosting an energy audit at our Skippack facility to identify certain operations that will be targeted for improvement and contribute to the overall goals of the Industry Partnership.  The EPA is sponsoring Palmer International in this effort to reduce energy consumption.  Improvement ideas may be as simple as better insulation or as paradigm-shifting as solar power.  Palmer hopes to both reduce energy costs and the negative environmental impacts associated with energy inefficiency throughout the organization..
